Connect to servers via SSH (Mac OS X)
You log in to your servers via SSH to manage them through command line/shell/bash.
You can use any application, but this document will show you how to use Terminal on Mac OS X.
- Launch Terminal.
- Connect to your server via SSH:
ssh your server's username@your server's public IP address
Note: If you don't enter your server's username, Terminal will default to the username of the Mac OS profile you're using.
- Enter any login names, passwords, or passphrases you're prompted for.
If you set up an SSH key without a passphrase, you will be logged in automatically.
You can now run commands on your server through your Terminal window.
- Once you've configured your server, see Point your domain name to a server
